Lindley Scott House Wedding Video | Same Day Edit | Emi + Sylvester
Emi and Sylvester's wedding at the historic Lindley-Scott House in Azusa, California was the perfect setting for a timeless Southern California wedding.
Located in the San Gabriel Valley, the Lindley-Scott House is a historic wedding venue surrounded by four acres of lush gardens, mature trees, and beautiful outdoor spaces. The property combines historic character with an intimate wedding atmosphere, making it a distinctive choice for couples looking for a wedding venue in Azusa, the San Gabriel Valley, or the greater Los Angeles area.
For Emi and Sylvester, their wedding day included a beautiful ceremony and reception at the Lindley Scott House, with Prince Weddings creating a Same Day Edit wedding video that was shown during their reception.
Emi & Sylvester's Lindley Scott House Wedding
There is something particularly special about filming a wedding at a historic property like the Lindley-Scott House. The residence was originally built in 1911 for Charles Lindley, president of the Foothill Ranch, and was later acquired by Mabelle Scott Anderson. The property has maintained much of its historic character, including its gardens, winding driveway, mature trees, antique details, and distinctive architecture. Today, the property continues to serve as a wedding and reception venue in Azusa, providing couples with ceremony and reception spaces surrounded by the character of a historic estate. For wedding photography and cinematography, that creates an incredible variety of visual opportunities throughout the day.
A Beautiful Azusa Wedding Venue
The Lindley-Scott House offers couples a very different experience from a traditional hotel ballroom. The wedding ceremony takes place on the property's lawn, with the historic residence providing a beautiful backdrop and views toward the San Gabriel Mountains. The garden area can accommodate up to 200 seated guests. The property also features mature cypress and California live oak trees, gardens, and historic architectural details that provide natural backdrops for wedding photography.
Following the ceremony, guests can make their way through the gardens to the Carriage House, where wedding receptions are held. The Carriage House can accommodate up to 200 guests and is located only a short walk from the ceremony area. This creates a natural flow from ceremony to reception without requiring guests to leave the property.
What Makes Lindley Scott House Unique?
For couples searching for a Los Angeles wedding venue, the Lindley-Scott House offers a setting that feels surprisingly private and removed from the surrounding city.
The property combines:
Historic architecture
Four acres of gardens
Mature oak and cypress trees
Outdoor wedding ceremony locations
A historic residence
A dedicated reception Carriage House
Beautiful wedding photography locations
San Gabriel Mountain views
Indoor and outdoor event spaces
The venue also hosts only one event per day, giving couples and their guests exclusive use of the property during their event. That combination of history, gardens, privacy, and convenience makes Lindley Scott House an especially interesting option for couples planning a Southern California wedding.
Emi & Sylvester's Same Day Edit
The highlight of this particular project was creating a Same Day Edit wedding video for Emi and Sylvester.
A Same Day Edit is different from a traditional wedding highlight film.
Instead of taking days or weeks to complete the finished video, the cinematography team captures footage throughout the wedding day, quickly edits the most meaningful moments, and presents the finished film during the wedding reception.
That means the couple and their guests can watch their wedding story while they are still celebrating. For the guests in the room, it can be an incredibly emotional experience. They may have seen parts of the day themselves, but the Same Day Edit allows everyone to see the wedding from a completely different perspective. The bride getting ready. The groom waiting for the ceremony. The ceremony itself. Family reactions.
Wedding portraits.
The first moments of the reception. All of those pieces can come together into a short cinematic story that is presented later that same evening.
Why a Same Day Edit Is So Special
A traditional wedding film is designed to be watched long after the wedding day. A Same Day Edit has a different purpose. It becomes part of the wedding reception itself. The couple and their guests are still surrounded by the emotion of the day when they see the finished film. For Emi and Sylvester, that meant their guests could experience the wedding again from a cinematic perspective while the celebration was still underway. This is one of the reasons Same Day Edits have remained such a memorable part of wedding filmmaking. They turn the wedding film itself into an event.
Wedding Photography at Lindley Scott House
The Lindley-Scott House provides a wide variety of photography opportunities throughout the property. The gardens and mature trees create natural outdoor portraits, while the historic residence provides architectural character. Inside the residence, the foyer, antique furnishings, and grand staircase can provide additional portrait opportunities. The venue specifically highlights its Victorian-style dressing room and grand staircase as photography areas. For couples, having multiple portrait locations on the property makes it possible to create a diverse wedding gallery without spending a significant portion of the wedding day traveling between locations.
Cinematic Wedding Videography at Lindley Scott House
The combination of historic architecture, gardens, mature trees, and mountain scenery makes Lindley Scott House an excellent setting for cinematic wedding videography. The venue gives a wedding film a strong sense of place. Wide shots establish the historic property. The gardens provide movement and natural texture. The ceremony lawn creates a beautiful setting for the exchange of vows. The Carriage House provides the transition into the reception and celebration. And throughout all of it, the focus remains on the couple and the people who came to celebrate with them.
At Prince Weddings, our approach combines cinematic imagery with documentary storytelling. We want a wedding film to look beautiful, but more importantly, we want it to feel like the wedding actually felt.
The Wedding Reception
The Lindley-Scott House's Carriage House provides the dedicated reception setting for weddings at the property. The venue describes the Carriage House as accommodating up to 200 guests and providing an on-site reception environment with its own commercial kitchen and professional service staff. For a wedding film, the reception provides an entirely different energy from the ceremony. The emotional anticipation of the ceremony gives way to dinner, speeches, dancing, laughter, and celebration. Those moments become especially meaningful when combined with the earlier footage from the day in a Same Day Edit.
